NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
At Padstow North Public School, special religious education (SRE) is delivered on Wednesday from 11:45-12:15pm, K-6.
On enrolment parents/carers will be given the SRE to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE should be given to the class teacher or front office, in writing.
The following SRE classes are offered at Padstow North Public School. Each teacher of Special Religious Education is authorised by the approved provider.
The approved provider for Catholic SRE is the Catholic Diocese of Sydney. The Catholic SRE curriculum is available on the website at http://ccd.sydneycatholic.org/
The approved provider for Protestant SRE is the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. The Protestant SRE authorised curriculum can be viewed at https://www.godspace.org.au
The approved provider for Islamic SRE is the Islamic Council of NSW. The Islamic SRE curriculum is available on the website at http://www.isre.org.au/our-program.
During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a separate space and will participate in meaningful activities such as, reading, private study or completing unfinished work.
